OnMed, the premier tech-enabled hybrid care company, today announced the expansion of its Board of Directors with the addition of former Florida congressional representative Kendrick B. Meek (Rep-D). Meek currently serves as a senior advisor to a diverse group of companies in the healthcare and financial services industries. He brings to OnMed’s Board robust policy experience and a deep understanding of the healthcare dynamics at the state level.

Meek represented the 17th Congressional District of Florida from 2002 to 2010, where as a member of the House Ways and Means Committee he was successful in sponsoring and passing legislation focused on healthcare issues, including the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the Healthcare Reconciliation Act. Prior to joining the U.S. House of Representatives, Meek served as a member of the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate.

“Our current healthcare system isn't set up for success and overlooks countless Americans. The need for a more equitable system is urgent, and I’ve seen first-hand that equity starts with improving access to care,” said Meek. “I’m honored to play a role in supporting OnMed’s mission: improving access by bringing tech-enabled hybrid care to underserved communities that need it most.”

“Representative Meek’s deep knowledge of healthcare policy and his ability to navigate complex issues through a bipartisan lens will bring significant value to OnMed,” said CEO Karthik Ganesh. “We see a real opportunity to increase health equity awareness at the local, state, and federal government levels, thus improving access to care.”

Meek will join recently announced board members Heyward Donigan and Ken Goulet, who have a proven track record of healthcare transformation at scale. OnMed has recently expanded its CareStation footprint to include Connecticut, South Florida, Texas and Georgia, advancing healthcare access for underserved patients across America.
