Do you know a hearing loss hero? Hearing aid manufacturer Oticon, Inc. has opened the call for nominations for the 2025 Oticon Focus on People Awards. This national program celebrates the inspiring individuals who are breaking barriers, creating opportunities and making meaningful contributions within the hearing loss community.

Since its inception more than 25 years ago, the Oticon Focus on People Awards program has recognized hundreds of individuals whose accomplishments and advocacy efforts challenge outdated stereotypes about hearing loss. From educators and audiologists to young advocates and community leaders, Oticon Focus on People award winners exemplify the power of perseverance, innovation and community service.

“The Focus on People Awards allow us to shine a spotlight on those who inspire change, foster inclusion and redefine perceptions of what it means to live with hearing loss,” said Jacob Torpe Winter, Vice President of Marketing for Oticon, Inc. “We are honored to recognize these true hearing champions whose remarkable efforts empower others and create a better world for all.”

Nominations are being accepted online through June 16. Eligible nominees must be age 6 or older and do not need to have a hearing loss. Applicants should demonstrate exceptional dedication to improving the lives of individuals with hearing loss or advancing awareness and inclusivity within the broader hearing loss community.

Nominations will be evaluated for overall initiative, impact and potential to improve the lives of people with hearing loss. A distinguished panel of hearing care professionals and Oticon customers will review all submissions and select three winners to be announced in late 2025.

Each winner will receive a $2,500 cash prize and a $1,000 donation to a charity of their choice. Winners with a hearing loss will also receive a pair of Oticon hearing aids with BrainHearing™ technology.
