MorganFranklin Cyber, the newly independent firm backed by M|C Partners, welcomed cybersecurity and IT strategy leader John Allen as Managing Director to lead its growing Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) sector.

With more than 25 years of cybersecurity, IT strategy, and business transformation experience, Allen is uniquely prepared to help MorganFranklin Cyber’s technology clients and others improve defenses against accelerating nation-state threats and increasingly sophisticated attacks. Recently, Allen was the Managing Director of Cyber Technology Consulting at Ernst & Young (EY), where he led global cybersecurity and IT initiatives. His career has spanned various industries, including financial services, healthcare, media and technology.

His deep expertise includes crafting cybersecurity frameworks, implementing cloud and infrastructure modernization strategies, and leading large-scale digital transformation projects.

Previously, he provided advisory as well as fractional CIO and CISO services as an Operating Partner at CXO Partners, helping organizations modernize their cybersecurity infrastructures and align IT strategies with business objectives. Early in his career, Allen spent two decades at Mycroft Incorporated in New York City, where he leveraged his innovative approach to build and enhance advanced infrastructure and cybersecurity solutions.
